Nature of the tool
Job Buddy is an autofill convenience tool. It reads information from a profile you create and attempts to fill corresponding fields on job application forms. It is not a recruitment service, career advisor, employment agency, or professional advisory service of any kind.
No guarantee of accuracy
Job Buddy's field matching is based on automated heuristics: HTML attributes, label text, dictionary matching, and fuzzy string comparison. This process is imperfect. Job Buddy may:
- Fill a field with the wrong profile value.
- Fail to fill a field it should have filled.
- Miss fields that are hidden, dynamically loaded, or built with non-standard components.
You must review every field Job Buddy fills before submitting any application. Job Buddy never submits a form on your behalf, but it is your responsibility to verify the content before you do.
Résumé import and AI-assisted autofill
Job Buddy includes optional features that use Google's Gemini API via an API key you supply yourself. Suggestions produced by these features, including fields extracted from your résumé and field-match suggestions during autofill, are generated by a large language model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate.
- AI suggestions are a starting point, not a verified output.
- Job Buddy does not independently verify any value produced by the AI.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing, correcting, and accepting or rejecting every suggestion before it is saved to your profile or submitted on a form.
No employment advice
Job Buddy does not provide advice on how to complete job applications, what information to disclose, how to present your experience, or any other aspect of the job-seeking process. Nothing produced by Job Buddy constitutes career, legal, or employment advice.
Special category data
Job Buddy's profile includes optional fields for gender, ethnicity, veteran status, and disability status. These fields exist because many job application forms include equivalent equal-opportunity employment questions. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to complete these fields on any application, and for understanding the implications of disclosing this information in the jurisdiction and context in which you are applying.
Third-party platforms
Job Buddy operates on third-party websites and applicant tracking systems that the developer has no control over. The developer makes no representation that Job Buddy is compatible with, permitted by, or endorsed by any specific platform, employer, or job board.
User responsibility
By using Job Buddy, you accept full responsibility for:
- The accuracy and completeness of the information in your profile.
- Reviewing all autofilled fields before submitting any application.
- Complying with the terms and policies of any platform you use Job Buddy on.
- Any outcome, positive or negative, resulting from an application submitted with Job Buddy's assistance.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of Job Buddy accepts no liability for incorrect, incomplete, or misleading job applications, missed opportunities, or any other consequence arising from reliance on Job Buddy or its AI-assisted suggestions.
